Floating – Deep Soul Thinking

This painting just sat in my head until I committed to it on canvas. I couldn’t get it out. Floating was inspired by a photo of jelly fish under the water. Something about it just captured me.
I love animals and nature. They form the base for almost all of my work.

I worked with acrylic paint to create this abstract piece; I love the vibrancy in the colours and the texture in the paint and brushstrokes throughout Floating.

For me, texture is key. So getting the movement in my strokes while retaining the thick, luscious feeling in the paint is important.
