Words from the artist:
Sister, daughter, mother and now I guess artist. It has been a long time since I was brave enough to put paintbrush to paint, but I am eternally grateful to those special people who continued to remind me that art is life.
I would consider myself an abstract impressionist, although I do like to challenge myself to try new styles from time to time (with varying degrees of satisfaction). I take inspiration from the beauty of nature and all the colours that she provides as well as the magic that can be found in a moment. The majority of my work is abstract florals, however I do love painting bold, colourful abstract expressionism works that usually end up on the walls in my bathroom.
I am an intuitive artist. I don't plan my paintings. This may sound strange, but I can't visualise things. You know when people say to close your eyes and picture a red star....I can't see a red star. If I really focus, I see the words 'red star', but usually it's just a feeling more than anything visual. So planning a painting is impossible, it is all just intuition leading the charge.
