Colour Land – A Look Into the Feeling of Frida

Colour Land is currently on show at MREAM Galleries in Melbourne for the Frida exhibition that opened right before the corona virus hit us.

So unfortunately the exhibition hasn’t been able to be viewed as much as we would all like. There are some phenomenal works in this exhibition.

So, in preparation, I began to channel Frida and what she means to me. Strength, passion, fearlessness, power, determination, unstoppable, emotive, pain, hurt, love, happiness….. I could go on and on. I took all of that. Originally I wanted to include her face in my piece. I knew, without a doubt, I wanted colour. Lots of explosive colour. After a couple of tests I knew what I wanted to paint.

Colour Land is acrylic on canvas. It is 50cm x 50cm blend of colour, texture and movement.
