We wanted to use this series as an opportunity to shine the light on our wonderful and creative faces behind the brands that we sell and love! Today we are going to be sharing more about Julia Quinn, Julia is the face behind Vellaquin.
We asked Julia a series of questions which she has so kindly answered below;
First off, we want to know all about your business!
What is your business name and what products do you create?
Vellaquin - I create super rad hand painted decals
How did you decide that this is what you wanted to do?
I am an artist and designer and I always wanted my own brand with my own art direction and style.
I also felt like there was a gap in the market for fun colourful decals.
What did you do (or still do) before you launched your business?
Art director and designer
Where do you find your inspiration?
Everywhere! I'm inspired by colour, mood and trends as well as personal style.
What is your advice to any Mums out there that want to start their own business?
Just get started! There will be many mistakes and learning on the way if you are trying to do it perfectly you will never get there.
Of course, we are all about style and design so we want to know more about your personal style.
How would you describe your home decorating style?
Colourful and eclectic, homely and cosy.
Does your home design reflect in the products that you create?
Yes absolutely - I have my own decals all around my home!
Favourite colour combo?
Ohh this is a tricky one..... I would say I love burnt orange and mint green at the moment for home décor.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Arty bohemian meets street with a touch of Grandma on her way to bingo. (We love this answer!)

What are you watching on television at the moment?
I'm obsessed with Nordic Noir so at the moment it's The Killing SBS
How do you spend your weekends?
Picnics, walking and eating out - the good stuff!
Favourite Music Artist and Genre?
French and 90s electro - Air, Bent, Groove Armada, Lamb
Best place for take-out?
I like everything!
